Meet Chef Mia
Hey it’s me! Your favorite local chef and your kitchen “ate” (pronounced aht-eh and means big sister in tagalog). Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and I hope we can connect over our love for all things food and culture together.
Born in Guam and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, I’ve had an eclectic and fun journey into the culinary world. Although I never went to culinary school I have been a private chef for almost 4 years and it’s been one of the best career pivots I’ve ever made. Before that I was taught through trial by fire in restaurant kitchens at the age of 23 into a chaotic ramen restaurant, a farm to table food truck, a port town bar and grill, and finally at a fine dining new american/italian place right on the beach.
My resume now consists of high profile clientele such as micro celebrities/influencers, assisting catering events for company parties, weddings, brand activations, and meal prep for athletes in the NBA, NFL, and NHL. I also work with brands through social media to create content and exercise more of my creative brain.
Regardless of who you are, I am excited to be here with you! Food is the greatest way to bring people together and I look forward to what our journey together can be.
